Theft of Firearm From Automobile Arrest– Ongoing Investigation

On June 26, 2025, at approximately 2:48 AM, Abington Police Officers responded to the 1800 block of Preston Ave following a report of individuals attempting to steal from vehicles. During a check of the area, officers discovered that numerous vehicles had been entered between Moreland Road and Phipps Avenue.

One vehicle appeared as if the suspect attempted to steal it, but could not operate the manual transmission.

Ring camera footage was located by officers and the suspect, along with the co-conspirator, were stopped along Moreland Road. They were found in possession of identifiable items taken from multiple vehicles in the area, including a loaded 9mm Springfield Hellcat pistol.

Both individuals were arrested and transported to the Abington Police Department for arraignment. The investigation remains ongoing.
