A Word From the Chief of Police
Police Chief John A. Livingood
As Abington Township’s Chief of Police I want to let everyone know that our values, principles and goals will remain unchanged. Maintaining an open dialogue with the residents we serve and welcoming feedback and input from them is very important. This Web Page is one of the ways we intend to do this. On this page you will find answers to many questions you might have for Abington Police, such as “how do I pay a parking ticket”, or “where and when can I dispose of unneeded medication”. You can also sign up to receive an email alert every time something new is posted. This is a good way to make sure you are alerted to and aware of what crime trends might be occurring or what is happening in your neighborhood. You can also follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
Although, “Protecting and Serving with Pride” is our #1 priority I’d like to ensure you that we will continue to wholeheartedly support and embrace the many innovative and valuable programs such as Abington Police Athletic League (PAL), Citizens and Police Together (C.A.P.T.), Abington Community Task Force (ACT), and many others which make Abington such a special place. Many of these programs are driven and staffed by dedicated volunteers and to them as well as the brave, committed, and loyal officers and employees who are Abington Police – a HUGE thank you for what you do every single day.
