Robbery Update

At approximately 10:40 PM on Saturday July 11, 2015, a lone male robbed the clerk of the Getty
Gas Station Mini-Mart at 3031 Mt. Carmel Avenue in the North Hills Section of Abington
Township. There were no other customers inside the store when a man walked in wearing blue
coveralls and some type of hat which concealed almost all of his face. The male told the lone
clerk “give me the cash” and then walked behind the counter. The male told the clerk; “I have a
gun – I have a gun!” The male grabbed the cash out of the registers and placed it in a white
plastic bag. The male then knocked several displays over before escaping on foot with an
undisclosed amount of cash. Further investigation revealed that the suspect did
appear to be armed with a small handgun which he held at his side. He never
pointed it at the clerk and there were no injuries.
