At approximately 7:30 PM on January 19, 2015, three males entered the Precision Watches & Jewelry Store in the Willow Grove Park Mall. They went immediately to the Rolex case and began smashing the top with small sledge hammers which they brought with them and then left behind. They reached into the case and stole several expensive Rolex Watches. While reaching into the case, at least one of the suspects cut himself. The store owner feared for his employees’ safety and fired two shots from a handgun he was licensed to carry into the ceiling and the three suspects ran out of the store. Other than the cut the suspect(s) received reaching into the broken case, there were no injuries. The suspects ran into Bloomingdales ground level and ran out to the parking lot where a Chrysler mini-van had been circling the lot. They jumped into the mini-van and left the lot. This mini-van was located abandoned in close proximity and just off of Mall Property. Its ignition had been punched and police are still working to determine if it was stolen. Please refer to photos below and contact Abington Police at 267-536-1100, #4 with any information.
