Robbery – Papa John’s Pizza

November 15, 2015
Case 15-044207

At approximately 11:15 AM on November 15, 2015, a man entered Papa John’s Pizza which is located at 1843 Easton Road in the Willow Grove Section of Abington Township and asked about buying a pizza. When the employee told him the price of the pizza, the man, who is described as a black male, 20 to 30 years of age, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, pointed a handgun at the employee and ordered her to the rear of the store. The first suspect then apparently opened a side door which allowed a second suspect, described as tall, thin black male wearing a dark “bubble coat” or sweatshirt which also had a hood up, to enter the store.

An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from the employees and from the store registers. Cell phones were also stolen from employees before three of the employees were locked in an upstairs storage area and the fourth was placed in the walk-in freezer. There were no shots fired and there were no injuries. Abington Police are asking that any person who has information about this robbery or the suspects who committed it contact APD by dialing 267-536-1100 and selecting #3. Tips can also be submitted, anonymously if the person wishes, by contacting APD via the Internet at www.abingtonpd.org and choosing the tab at the top of the page titled “Contact Us” and then choosing “Crime Tips”.
