Armed Robbery

On December 13, 2021 at 10:02 PM, Abington Police responded to the 3000 block of Mt. Carmel Avenue for a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.  The victim told officers that he had been approached from behind while putting gasoline in his vehicle and told by the suspect to place his car keys on top of the vehicle.  The victim said that the suspect displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s wallet.  The suspect then ordered a second victim to surrender her purse.  After collecting the purse, the suspect retrieved the keys from on top of the victim’s vehicle and fled with that vehicle northbound on North Hills Avenue.

The suspect was described as an African American male in his mid-to-late 20’s, with a medium build, approximately 5’ 10” in height.  He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a navy-blue shirt underneath, black sweat pants, and black sneakers.  He was wearing a mask. This crime is being actively investigated, and anyone having information is asked to contact Abington Police Detective Division at (267)536-1100.

CRIMINAL CHARGES, AND ANY DISCUSSION THEREFORE, ARE MERELY ALLEGATIONS AND ALL DEFENDANTS ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL AND UNLESS PROVEN GUILTY.
