Counterfeit Money Arrests

At approximately 6:15 PM on May 22, 2014, a woman bought water ice at Rita’s Water Ice on Easton Road in Glenside and gave in payment a ten-dollar bill. The bill was determined to be counterfeit and the woman who presented it was identified as 35 year old Angela MAZZONI, of Johnston Avenue in Roslyn. Based on additional investigative information, Abington Police were able to obtain sufficient probable cause to obtain a search and seizure warrant for MAZZONI’S home. At approximately 7:45 PM on May 23, 2014 Abington Police executed the search warrant and seized 265 counterfeit ten-dollar bills along with approximately $6,000 in real United States Currency from the home. MAZZONI and her husband, 35 year old David S. MAZZONI were both at home at the time and both were taken into custody and charged with criminal conspiracy, possession of instruments of crime, and two separate counts of Forgery.

Note: – The charges against Angela MAZZONI and David MAZZONI are allegations only and have not yet been proven in a court of law.
