Robbery/Assault Arrest Made

On February 10, 2022 at 8:09 AM, a ‘Road Rage’ type assault occurred in the parking lot of the Fox Pavilion in the Jenkintown section of Abington Township. A female victim turned into the parking lot from Old York Rd. after an enraged motorist began tailgating her. As she turned into the lot, the male driver who had been tailgating her pulled his car around to block her path of travel. The male approached the victim’s vehicle and the victim lowered her window. He then punched the female victim in the face, grabbed her cell phone from her lap and smashed it on the ground before fleeing from the scene. An investigation was conducted and detectives were able to identify a suspect. On February 22, 2022, the suspect turned himself into police after a warrant was issued for his arrest. Tyree Darnell Lawson, a 42-year-old-male from Philadelphia was charged with robbery, assault, and related charges. He was arraigned by a Montgomery County District Judge, and was released on unsecured bail pending a future court appearance.
