Bank Robbery – TD Bank – 2900 Moreland Road, Willow Grove

On Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 6:45 AM, two employees were arriving for work and preparing to open the bank for the day. As the first employee unlocked the door to allow the second employee to enter, a man, dressed all in black, wearing a mask and carrying a handgun rushed up and attempted to enter. The employees managed to get the door closed and locked, but the gunman fired a shot shattering the glass front door. The suspect then stepped through the broken glass door and grabbed one employee, dragging him back into the bank. The other employee managed to run into the back of the bank and escaped out a rear door. The suspect fired a second shot inside the bank and dragged the other employee into the rear area of the bank. After threatening this employee, the suspect escaped out the rear of the bank without getting any money. Both employees suffered superficial injuries but did not require medical attention. There were no customers in the bank at the time.

The suspect is described as a black male, dressed all in black with a black, zip front, hooded sweatshirt, with the hood up. He had on a black mask which covered most of his face and was armed with a black colored handgun. He fled the area in a mid-size, black, SUV with chrome wheels. The vehicle left the bank lot by the Fitzwatertown Road exit and traveled south on Fitzwatertown Road and immediately right onto Oklahoma Road. The vehicle was occupied by a second person and may have been parked on Carnation, Oklahoma, or possibly in the entrance to the Twin Brooks Townhouses just before the robbery.
