Register Now for Abington Township Police Department’s 2019 Citizen’s Police Academy!

Have you always been interested in how a crime scene is investigated or how many hours of training it takes to become a K9 Officer? Here’s your chance!

The Citizen’s Police Academy is designed to teach citizens about the training, policies, and guiding principles of law enforcement and ethics that shape Abington Township Police Department. Taught by Abington officers and members of other agencies, participants will learn about crime scene investigation, the police K9 unit, SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics), accident investigation, use of force and more.

This program will be held at our Public Safety Training Facility (located at 2200 Florey Lane) on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 p.m. for eight weeks beginning March 6th and running through April 24th.  Residents of Abington and surrounding communities are eligible to attend.  Participants will have a graduation ceremony on the final night where they will receive a certificate of completion. There is no homework and it’s FREE to participate!
