On November 18, 2010 there was a burglary at a private residence in the 1500 block of Elkins Avenue, Abington. Jewelry was reportedly missing from the home. On December 1, 2010 a home in the 2000 block of Chester Avenue was burglarized. Entrance was gained by smashing out a window in the door and unlocking the door. Laptop computers, jewelry and coins were taken. On December 3, 2010 there was a burglary at another home in the 1500 block of Elkins Avenue. Entrance was by breaking out a ground level window in the rear of the home. Coins and two laptops were among the items taken. On December 7, 2010 the same house on Elkins Avenue that was burglarized on November 18 was burglarized again. This time the side door was forced and two flat-screen TV’s, coins, a laptop computer and an IPod were taken.

At approximately 1:00 PM on December 14, 2010 a resident in the 2000 block of Chester Avenue was on his second floor when he heard a loud bang. He went downstairs to investigate and found a man standing in his kitchen. The intruder fled when he saw the victim and the victim noticed that his back door had been smashed in. A witness reported that three males ran through the rear yards on Elkins Avenue towards TARGET. Abington Officers surrounded the area and another witness reported that the three just entered the side door of 1518 Elkins Avenue. Officers went to this home and found three males who were identified as those who were running through the yards. They were identified as 19 year old Jared GREENE, his 21 year old brother Cully GREENE, and 20 year old Jamier ASCENCIO. All three are residents of Philadelphia but visit 1518 Elkins Avenue.

The three suspects were arrested and charged with multiple counts of burglary, theft, receiving stolen property. They were arraigned and held in lieu of $100,000 cash bail. All four of the burglaries listed above have been cleared by these arrests and some of the stolen property has been recovered.
