APD Investigates Stabbing Incident

At approximately 11:52 PM on October 4, 2010 an Abington Police Officer was stopped in the Huntingdon Valley Shopping Center by a 22 year old male from Philadelphia who stated that he had been stabbed. The male was bleeding from several stab wounds and was transported to Abington Memorial Hospital for treatment by the Second Alarmers Rescue Squad. The victim stated that he had been stabbed by two unknown persons in the vicinity of Berkeley Avenue and Huntingdon Pike and that his friend had also been stabbed by the same two assailants and was probably still at that location. Officers responded to that area and found a second male, unconscious and severely injured, inside of a parked, locked, running green Buick Sedan. Officers broke out the window and this victim was also transported to Abington Memorial Hospital for treatment. He is also 22 years old, a Philadelphia resident, and an acquaintance of the other victim.

Investigation into this assault is continuing but it appears that this was not a random act and that the attackers were known to their victims.
