On Thursday, March 1, 2007, 43 year old Debbie Madosky of 23 Bortons
Road, Medford, New Jersey turned herself in to Abington Police on
charges that she stole 1.4 million dollars from an 86 year old female
resident of Rydal Park. Madosky is charged with five felony counts
each of theft of movable property, receiving stolen property, theft
by deception, theft by failure to make required disposition of funds
received, and one count each of the Pennsylvania Securities Act
regarding fraudulent acts (a felony) and acting as a broker without
being registered to do so (a misdemeanor).
The charges were brought as a result of a 10 month investigation
conducted by Abington Police, Pennsylvania State Securities Commission,
and the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office. Madosky is
accused of taking the victim's money under the guise of investing
it in her behalf for a greater return. There is no indication that
any investments were made on the victim's behalf and the funds have
not been returned to the victim.
Madosky was arraigned by District Justice Juanita Price and released
on $500,000 ROR bail. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for
March 9, 2007 at 1:00 PM in front of District Justice Price.
