On Saturday, November 3, 2007, at approximately 1:00 AM, Abington Police responded to Jenkintown Road and Linden Road in the Glenside section of Abington Township for a reported armed robbery. A male suspect exited the front passenger seat of a light colored car and pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at a victim, who was on foot, demanding his money, and then left the scene.

At approximately 1:30 AM, police responded to Radcliffe Avenue and Bradfield Road in the Roslyn section of Abington Township, for another reported armed robbery. A male and female victims walking in the area were robbed at gunpoint by a lone male who fit the same description as the earlier robbery. The suspect then re-entered a white sedan, fleeing the area. The victim stated there were two other males in the car when it fled the area. Victim got the registration number of vehicle.

At 2:00 AM, the vehicle was found in a residential driveway in the 2600 block of Phipps Avenue, in the Willow Grove Section of Abington Township. Three males walking nearby were stopped for identification. The victims identified one suspect, Timothy Lee, age 19, of Washington Avenue, Willow Grove section of Abington, as the male who robbed them. Vehicle is owned and was operated by Jeffrey Jones, Jr., of St. James, Roslyn section of Abington. The third individual was identified as being in the vehicle at the time of both incidents and was not charged. Lee admitted to the armed robberies and the handgun was recovered from the trunk of the vehicle.

Both Lee and Jones were arraigned before District Justice Joseph Dougherty and bail was set at $25,000 each. Both went to Montgomery County Prison in lieu of bail and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for November 13, 2007 at 10:00 AM in front of Judge Dougherty.
