Internet Safety Presentation

The Abington Township Police Department has been recognized throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a pioneer in promoting child safety on the Internet. With so many of our kids going online these days, shouldn't you learn how to protect your children from pedophiles, hate groups, pornography, bomb-making recipes and other offensive material?

Lt. Dennis McCauley is available to make a 45-minute presentation to your organization or group on Internet Safety or Hate Groups on the Internet. Lt. McCauley is a recognized expert in the field of Internet Safety. He is a member of the Internet Safety Subcommittee of the Governor's Community Partnership for Safe Children. Lt. McCauley helped design Internet safety training for police officers across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and has presented the program with former Gov. Tom Ridge.

At this time, two separate 45-minute presentations are available:

  • Internet Safety for Parents: a basic, how-to course that offers parents the essentials for keeping their children safe online
  • Hate on the Internet: a more in-depth presentation that focuses on the way in which extremist groups exploit the Internet to spew their message of hate as well as a means of recruiting new members
