Abington's 91-officer force is one of the largest, most progressive suburban police agencies in the Commonwealth. The Department also has a SWAT Team, K-9, drug enforcement unit, D.A.R.E., Bike Patrol Unit, Juvenile Task Force, and Crisis Negotiation Unit. Sworn personnel can also specialize as School Resource Officers, Juvenile Officers, Field Training Officers, Accident Investigators, and Crime Prevention Specialists.

In fact, our entire operation is automated, from a sophisticated Computer-aided Dispatch system to our new digital fingerprint system.
