Aqua Pennsylvania to Close Two State Roads Weekdays in Montgomery County for Water Main Replacements

King of Prussia, PA – Aqua Pennsylvania is planning weekday closures starting Monday, July 27 on New Second Street in Cheltenham Township and Jenkintown Road in Abington Township, Montgomery County, for water main replacements, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced.

The weekday work schedule is:

• Monday, July 27 through Friday, August 28, New Second Street will be closed between Ashbourne Road and Oak Lane Road Mondays through Fridays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. During construction, motorists will be detoured over Ashbourne Road and Oak Lane; and

Monday, July 27 through Friday, December 18, Jenkintown Road will be closed between Greenwood Avenue and Cedar Road Mondays through Fridays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. During construction, motorists will be detoured over Greenwood Avenue, Route 611 (Old York Road) and Township Line Road.

Local access will be maintained up to the construction zones. Aqua Pennsylvania will complete both projects under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through these areas. The schedules are dependent on the weather.
